What is Hawaiian hot lava stone massage?
It is a whole body massage with its origins in Polynesia where hot stones (50 – 60 degrees Celsium) are being used. Each part of the body is massaged both with and without the stones. This is a very slow and continuous massage with emphasis on sufficient warming up and massage of the whole body. It is very pleasant. It relaxes muscles, meridians and psyche. It is a traditional relaxation treatment.
Is it hard to learn the Hawaiian hot stone massage?
Our massage school Drolma prepares courses managed so each participant learns all the grips and techniques, has practiced them well enough and will be able to perform the massage right after the course is over. Hawaiian massage with lava stones contains a great deal of grips, specific procedures and therefore our courses are prepared very carefully and are also long enough. It is definitely not a one day or a 2-day fast course with 15 to 20 participants. Drolma massage school emphasizes individual approach (maximum of 6 to 8 participants in most of the courses), sufficient schooling (4 days) and low price affordable for everyone – around 5 thousand CZK (real value of the course is approximately 12 thousand CZK).
Do you also have courses of a classic (sports and Swedish) massage?
No. Our school only organizes traditional regeneration massage treatments and procedures which are considered more advanced kinds of techniques and procedures demanding previous knowledge oftraditional massage. It is necessary to have had a course of sports massage with accreditation of MŠMT ČR or massage course for medical institutions with accreditation of MZ ČR (based on which it is possible to get the Trade certificate), to learn traditional massage or learn it otherwise. Does the price of the course include any teaching materials?
Yes. We have prepared detailed manuals for each participant for each kind of massage.
What to do with head aches? Are massages you teach suitable for head aches; could the heat from the stones make it even worse?
Massage courses thought in Drolma School are interesting because we emphasize the thorough massage of these problematic spots and eliminating of civilization diseases. In fact, all massages which are thought in our school are recommended for head aches in. Heat from the hot stones along with its natural energy is on the contrary very suitable for dissolving neck and lower neck muscle blocks which causes gradual elimination of head aches coming from lower neck tension. Strongly vascular back and lower neck during the honey massage releases the lower neck muscle tension which is one of the main causes of headaches. Complex head massage and aromatherapeutic holistic massage also directly address this problem. Of course each massage has its contraindications, understand conditions when we do not recommend it. All details will be presented at the course.
What do I need to take with me?
Free clothing for the massages (white shirt, trousers), 2 big and 2 small towels, comfortable (health) sandals, notebook, pen, good mood and a desire to learn new things.
Will I be able to apply the massages I learn here in practice?
Drolma massage school focuses on traditional regeneration techniques, its teaching and propagation in our society. Also, we teach therapeutical procedures which are not only healthy but also very pleasant and relaxing. Those, who do this professionally know how immense and positive acceptance Hawaiian massage with hot stones or honey massage has for clients. Lat but not least, those who want to learn this therapy to apply it on their relatives and loved ones will also be very busy very shortly after they have finished our course.
Do you believe that I will be able to find a free spot on one of the closest courses?
We try to offer courses approximately half a year in advance according to the actual interest of clients and also according to the availability of instructors. Please see the dates section on this web site and sign up for the course on time. Application becomes valid only after you have paid the deposit. Payment is possible via bank transfer or via post order on: account stated by the course; note for the recipient: first and last name of the participant. Additional payment is paid after you arrive on the spot. If you withdraw more than 21 days prior to the course start we invoice 300 CZK cancellation fee. If you withdraw after this date you will be charged the whole deposit. However, you can send a substitute. (If you think of cancelation, please inform us timely, because if there is a candidate on the waiting list, we will only charge you the 300 CZK manipulation fee.)
